Part of the Roadcases mission is to document stories from the road with an intelligent backstage perspective of events.
How many people do you know, that toured with famous and now iconic bands/acts, have boasted after telling a road tale, "I should write a book someday." Itıs far easier said than done.
The purpose of creating a website and pursuing the ultimate collective among 35 years of production history under the auspices of 30 different jobs, is to give a chance for you to "make yourself known" and contribute your favorite tale(s) to the Roadcases Chronicles. You will receive credit and a share of the proceeds (should we be successful) will be used to start an association for touring professionals or other altruistic ventures that will benefit our talent pool.
Recognize now that early touring was an unrepeatable era and it needs to be documented. Otherwise, history will be remembered from the precocious rock star or celebrity perspective and it is simply not a true account. The opportunity is now to change that.
There have been single person descriptions of the road, but never a collective. It is only the Internet that enables us to connect a worldwide personal list all of those that toured, and that will bring this concept to reality. Ask your friends/associates with touring backgrounds to become involved, as Roadcases initiatives will succeed only from strength in numbers.
It will only take a few minutes of your time to recall and write the basics of your most famous or infamous tale. Think about a scene that has some significance instead of what happened when you were pissed and got the groupie to do you before the band. Sorry... heard that tale. Be creative!

Revert to the saying, "Strength in Numbers". The central function of our online survey was to determine if our help was needed for insurance, financial support and guidance. We've come to find that many don't have it and an association doesn't exist that would provide for the needs of our industry that comprise mostly of independents - it is high time!
An Association for Production Touring Personnel would allow us to negotiate benefits as members. If this interests you, please log on to the forum and post your comments under that topic. Roadcases will moderate and keep you informed from there.
